In addition to our surfaces, it is a big concern of ours to protect our environment in a sustainable manner. Virtually all of our powder coatings are REACH- and ROHS-compliant products and, of course, solvent-free.
We want to make all our processes sustainable so that we can reduce our environmental footprint in the long term.
Sustainable Production Partners
We, as well as our partner PPG, strive to use resources efficiently and drive sustainability throughout the value chain to preserve and protect our environment. In 2020, PPG’s global operations achieved reductions in energy, waste, water and emissions.
PPG produces its powder sustainably. This means that PPG’s suppliers must also focus on reduced water use and lower energy consumption. In 2020, PPG used 14.5 million cubic meters of water in the production of its powder coatings. This is 19.2% less water than in 2019, and PPG is striving to use less water in subsequent years as well. PPG’s energy consumption in 2020 was 2.8 gigajoules per ton in production, a decrease of 11.3% from 2019. PPG is also reducing its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions primarily by reducing energy consumption. In 2020, the company emitted 760,000 tons of GHG, down 17.4% from 2019.
PPG’s global research and development efforts create breakthrough innovations that reduce energy consumption, cut emissions, increase resource utilization and raise living standards.

Our production partner COLORE also places great emphasis on protecting our environment and specifically points out the environmental sustainability of their powder coatings. Unlike liquid coatings, these contain minimal or no VOC emissions. In addition, COLORE products maximize yield and reduce waste. They resist corrosion, chemicals and the environment for longer, and subsequently enable energy savings and production increases.

Environmentally Friendly Delivery Routes
We, as partners and distributors, are also very concerned about making our delivery routes as sustainable as possible. We therefore use the reliable delivery services DHL and UPS, which apply their own sustainable strategies to protect our environment.
DHL is building on expanding its e‑fleet to 37,000 vehicles and 14,000 e‑trikes by 2025, which means that each e‑vehicle will save 4 tons of CO2 per year. In addition, DHL is also focusing on efficient use of electricity and resources through battery storage by reusing batteries from retired e‑vehicles.

Meanwhile our supplier UPS is pursuing ‘Green Logistics’ — sustainable logistics. They are relying on renewable natural gas and will be purchasing 250 million gallons of it over the next few years. As a result, despite the millions of miles driven by the UPS fleet, more than 1 million metric tons of emissions will also be avoided.
